The Director of Agriculture and Irrigation in Yahr District, Lahj Governorate, Muhammad Abdel Hafez Youssef, inaugurated the planting of 150 coffee seedlings with support from the Islamic Development Bank, the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development, the United Nations Development Programme, and the implementation of the Injaz Foundation for Development.
During the inauguration, the Director of Agriculture stressed the economic importance of the coffee crop, noting that the directorate was famous for growing high-quality young coffee. He also explained that the project supports 10 farmers by providing coffee seedlings, water tanks, and a peeling machine, with the aim of reviving coffee cultivation in the region.
For his part, the representative of the Injaz Foundation, Dr. Fawzi Adnan, praised the role of the funding agencies, pointing out the importance of the project in replacing the cultivation of the Qat tree with coffee due to its economic benefits.
Agricultural expert Nayef Ali called on farmers to pay attention to caring for coffee seedlings to achieve abundant production that benefits the local community.
