In a new field development, units of the security forces and the army in the "Arrows of the East" operation in Abyan Governorate, at dawn today, responded to an attack launched by members of the Al-Qaeda terrorist organization in Wadi Awamaran in Modiya District.

The attack came in conjunction with a series of other confrontations waged by the southern armed forces against the terrorist Houthi militias on the border fronts in Al-Mesmir, Al-Dhalea, Yafa’ and Bayhan, where the militias suffered heavy losses in lives and equipment.

The operational source in the Security Belt Forces confirmed that the forces were able to decisively thwart the attack, and inflicted heavy losses on the terrorist elements. He added that our forces carried out a tracking operation to pursue the remnants who fled the area.

The source indicated that the armed forces are working to secure the area and prevent the infiltration of terrorist elements, which are receiving logistical support from the Houthi militias. He stressed that the successive victories reflect the forces' commitment to defeating terrorism and protecting the stability of the south.
