Major General Faraj Salmeen Al-Bahsani, Vice President of the Southern Transitional Council and member of the Presidential Leadership Council, welcomed today, Saturday, the Chargé d'Affairs of the Russian Embassy to our country, Yevgeny Kudrov, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

The meeting discussed the latest developments in the situation on the national and regional arenas, and the efforts made by the Presidential Leadership Council to deal with international peace initiatives to end the crisis.

The two sides also discussed the vital role played by the Arab coalition countries led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and international parties in supporting these endeavours.

Al-Bahsani valued the strong historical relations between the two countries, stressing the strengthening of bilateral cooperation in various fields, to serve the interests of the two peoples.

He expressed his appreciation for the decision to resume the work of the Russian Embassy from the capital, Aden, noting that it reflects the depth of the strategic relations between the two countries.

He urged redoubling efforts to support the Presidential Leadership Council and the government, to confront the humanitarian and economic challenges that the country is going through, and to coordinate to find sustainable solutions.

For his part, the Chargé d'Affairs of the Russian Embassy reiterated his country's firm support for the Presidential Command Council and the government's efforts, and Moscow's commitment to continuing its support for basic issues, extending an invitation to Major General Al-Bahsani to visit Russia
