According to the sources of the “Masarat” website, they said that the committee was formed months ago and went to the headquarters of the Aviation Authority in the capital, Aden, and wanted to carry out its tasks, but it was not provided with any records or information, and a verbal altercation occurred between the committee and the leadership of the authority, which prompted the Minister of Transport to direct To expel the committee, and the news was blacked out from that day.
The sources added that the committee discovered that there is no financial budget for the Aviation and Meteorological Authority, even though it is one of the largest bodies in obtaining government revenues, and that the Authority conducts its financial affairs in a random manner, far from financial records and accounts, in clear violation of the laws regulating financial and administrative work in institutions. The sources revealed that the Authority reaps huge profits from aircraft transit fees in Yemeni airspace, as this huge amount, amounting to millions of dollars, is shared with the Houthi group, pointing out that the amount is transferred to the Authority’s account in Aden through the Central Bank and then a share is transferred.
