The director of the Al-Mualla Police Department, Colonel Fadl Al-Jahafi, confirmed that they were able to arrest an accused in a number of cases of fraud, theft, assault on citizens’ lands and rights, and the unlawful sale of highland lands.
Al-Jahafi added that the accused was stationed in those highlands with others to carry out the process of spreading the lands and selling them, and after the sale from one of them, the other parties would prevent the buyer from carrying out the construction process, claiming their ownership of that land and forcing the buyer to pay the value of the land again, in addition to blackmailing the They build almost daily by paying royalties, and whoever refuses, they stop him from building under force of arms.
Al-Jahafy pointed out that the accused had been issued a number of coercive arrest sentences by the Public Prosecution, the Public Funds Prosecution, and the Criminal Prosecution, as more than one security campaign was launched to arrest the accused and gang members, and they were resisting these campaigns with weapons, hiding in citizens’ homes in the mountain highlands.
The Al-Mualla Police Director added that the accused is in the custody of security personnel, and an investigation report will be opened on the charges against him, and as soon as investigations are completed, he will be transferred to the competent authorities to be punished in accordance with the law and order.
