The head and members of the National Commission to Investigate Allegations of Human Rights Violations met today, Monday, with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Human Rights Council in Geneva, Paul Beckers.
The head of the National Committee, Judge Ahmed Saeed Al-Muflhi, touched on human rights developments in the Republic of Yemen during the recent period, the committee’s visions in promoting human rights, and the forms of violations that occurred in the country during the year 2024, and were documented by the committee’s field teams.
At the meeting, which was attended by the Second Secretary for Political Affairs and Human Rights at the Netherlands Mission in Geneva, Ambassador Beckers pointed out that Lakebrand had briefed them on the committee’s twelfth report issued at the beginning of this month, praising the committee’s efficiency in implementing its field tasks and its periodic reports.
The ambassador also expressed his country's appreciation for the role played by the National Committee in Yemen, stressing the Netherlands' support for implementing this year's Human Rights Council resolution for the benefit of the Committee's work, and for their taking into account all the observations and proposals that were discussed during the meeting with the Chairman and members of the Committee. .
