Major General Aidaroos Qasim Al-Zubaidi, member of the Presidential Command Council, received at his residence in New York City, today, Thursday, Norwegian Deputy Foreign Minister Andreas Kravik.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in the political and humanitarian situation in our country in light of the Houthi escalation in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab and its repercussions on the humanitarian and service situation in our country.
In this regard, Major General Al-Zubaidi confirmed, “The Houthi escalation in international shipping lines is systematic piracy and terrorism that has nothing to do with the Palestinian issue, and an Iranian plan to blackmail the region and the world to achieve Iran’s expansionist agenda in the region.”
Major General Al-Zubaidi noted the seriousness of the situation in light of the continued terrorist Houthi militia in destabilizing the region, pointing out that the available information confirms the existence of coordination between the Houthi militia and the Al-Shabaab movement, the arm of Al-Qaeda in Somalia and the Horn of Africa, which requires the existence of a comprehensive local, regional and international strategy. To confront the plan implemented by this militia at the behest of Iran.
For his part, the Norwegian Deputy Foreign Minister affirmed that Norway stands with the efforts made by the regional and international communities to end the conflict in our country and protect international shipping lines
