Yemeni politician Muhammad Jameh commented on the missile strikes carried out by Iran against Israel in response to the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh and Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah.
In a post on Facebook, Jameh indicated that Iran aims with its attack to achieve two main goals:
The first is to restore the confidence of its allies, whose confidence in Iran’s ability to respond has been shaken. The second, which is considered the most important, is to prevent the war from expanding to its borders through military display.
Jumaih added that the problem lies in the difficulty of achieving both goals together, as the success of one may conflict with the achievement of the other, explaining that satisfying the allies requires taking real measures, while the military parade will not satisfy these allies.
Jomaih's statements come in the context of increasing tensions in the region, which put Iran and its allies in a difficult position between the need to respond effectively and avoid expanding the conflict with Israel.
