The Yemeni embassy in the Arab Republic of Egypt warned of fraud and treason carried out by a Yemeni resident impersonating an investor deal.

The embassy explained in a statement on Monday that it had received, during the recent period, a number of complaints and reports from many members of the Yemeni community about their exposure to fraud and breach of trust by a Yemeni residing in Egypt who was impersonating an investor.

The embassy did not mention the name of the person impersonating the investor, but it called on all Yemenis residing in Egypt to investigate before entering into any investment contributions, warning all members of the community against falling into fraudulent operations.

It stated that this statement came based on the complaints and reports that were documented by the Legal Department and registered with the competent authorities in the country of accreditation.

It confirmed that it will take all measures to protect the interests of its citizens in coordination with the competent authorities in the Republic of Egypt.
