His Excellency the Minister of Youth and Sports, Nayef Saleh Al-Bakri, was briefed today, Sunday, on the latest preparations for holding the (Third Arab Arm Wrestling Championship for both sexes), which is being held under the patronage of Minister Al-Bakri and the Minister of State, Governor of Aden, Ahmed Hamid Lamlas, and is scheduled to start on the 25th. From the month of November, until the 30th of the same month, in the capital, Aden, with the participation of the teams of “Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Somalia, and Djibouti.”
This came during his meeting with the President of the General Federation of Physical Strength and Arm Wrestling, Arhab Hassan Yassin, in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Sports Sector, Khaled Mohsen Al-Khulaifi, and the Director General of the General Administration of Federations and Clubs, Farhan Thabet Al-Muntaser.
In it, Al-Bakri affirmed, “The Ministry’s leadership stands and supports the General Federation of the Game and its keenness to overcome all difficulties in order to ensure the success of the tournament and present an honorable image of Aden and Yemen, given the nature of this Arab sporting event, which imposes an integrated vision in management, organization, security, services, and more.” That".
For his part, Arhab reviewed, “the arrangements and procedures that have been taken to make the tournament that our country is hosting a success for the first time,” noting that the number of teams that have confirmed their attendance so far is 9 Arab teams, which are: “Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Somalia, Djibouti.
He explained, 300 male and female players of various weights will participate in the tournament - in the categories of juniors (18-23 years old) - men (over 23 years old) - teachers - those with disabilities, in addition to holding the Super Cup tournament “Arab Champions Championship”.
