In a step that reflects the international community's appreciation for the efforts being made in Shabwa Governorate, the Office of the International Envoy praised the efforts of the local authority in establishing security and stability in the governorate.

This came during a meeting between the Undersecretary of Shabwa Governorate, Fahd bin Al-Dhib Al-Khulaifi, with the Political Affairs Officer and Acting Director of the Office of the International Envoy, Mr. Bert Scott, and the Political Officer, Tamanna Obaid, in the capital, Aden.

Undersecretary Al-Khulaifi conveyed the greetings of the Governor of Shabwa Governorate, Awad Muhammad bin Al-Wazir, reviewing during the meeting the tireless efforts made by the local authority in Shabwa in terms of development and construction, praising the great support provided by the United Arab Emirates to the governorate in various humanitarian, development and security fields.

Undersecretary Al-Khulaifi stressed the importance of the opening of Ataq Airport, which represents a major achievement for the governorate and a clear message to the world that Shabwa is safe and stable, and that it is determined to open its doors to investments and international cooperation.

For its part, the Office of the International Envoy praised the efforts of the local authority in Shabwa, stressing the importance of these efforts in achieving security and stability, which contributes to attracting investments and encouraging international organizations to provide more support to the governorate.

The envoy's office indicated that the opening of Ataq Airport will facilitate the visits of international delegations and humanitarian organizations to Shabwa, expressing his hope to visit the governorate in the near future.

It is expected that this international appreciation for Shabwa’s efforts will contribute to enhancing its position on the international scene and attracting more investments and development projects, which contributes to improving the living conditions of citizens.
