The city of Sayun in Hadhramaut Governorate witnessed large crowds of people from Hadhramaut during the “Million Southern Identity” event, to celebrate the 61st anniversary of the October 14 Revolution.
The participants raised the flags of the state of the South and slogans affirming their adherence to their demands to liberate the valley and desert of Hadhramaut, rejecting any external guardianship over the governorate, and rejecting the forces of the First Region, represented by leaders and individuals from outside the Hadramawt country.
The event began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an and the southern national anthem, where a number of leaders delivered speeches that emphasized the importance of restoring the southern identity and the rights of the people of Hadhramaut to manage their affairs themselves.
Significant demands
The speeches stressed the need to enable the people of Hadhramaut to manage their oil revenues and local resources, and to strengthen the role of the Hadhrami Elite Forces in maintaining security and stability.
The leaders also stressed the importance of addressing the political, economic, and service files in the governorate, in a way that ensures justice and equality among all the people of Hadhramaut.
A call for solidarity
The event concluded with a final statement emphasizing the rejection of any external interference, and demanding the fulfillment of the aspirations of the people of Hadhramaut towards freedom and sustainable development. The statement stressed the need to enhance unity and solidarity among all parties to achieve their common goals, stressing the importance of working in one spirit to preserve the social fabric and achieve stability in the region.

This event is considered a strong expression of the will of the people of Hadhramaut to regain their identity and legitimate rights, as the attendees demonstrated determination and insistence on achieving their demands within the framework of a sustainable struggle path.
