The European Union appointed a new deputy commander of the naval task force (ASPEDS), charged with protecting and securing international shipping lanes in the Red Sea from attacks by Iran’s arm, the Houthi terrorist militia.
Aspidus said, via the “X” platform, that the Italian Navy Admiral, Daniele Civico, assumed the position of Deputy Commander of its force present in the Red Sea, in contrast to the French Navy Admiral; Jean-Marc Bordier.
Operation Aspids thanked outgoing Rear Admiral Bourdier for his contribution, and also warmly welcomed Rear Admiral Civico.
