The head of the Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas" in the Gaza Strip, Yahya Sinwar, said on Saturday evening, October 28, 2023, that the resistance is immediately ready to conclude an exchange deal that includes the release of all prisoners.
Sinwar added, in a press statement, “We are immediately ready to conclude an exchange deal that includes the release of all prisoners in the occupation prisons in exchange for the release of all prisoners held by the resistance.”
Sanwar’s statements came after the military spokesman for the Martyr Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, “Abu Ubaida,” confirmed that “the large number of enemy prisoners held by al-Qassam is the price of emptying the prisons of all prisoners.”
Abu Ubaida explained, during a video speech, that contacts had taken place regarding the prisoners’ file and there was an opportunity to reach an agreement, but procrastination on the part of the Israeli occupation prevented it from continuing.
Abu Ubaida estimated the number of captured Israeli soldiers and settlers held by the resistance factions in Gaza at between 200-250, noting that about 200 of them are in the hands of Al-Qassam.
On their side, the families of Israeli prisoners held by the resistance announced that they agreed to a deal that included the release of all Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the release of their sons.
