The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) announced the arrival of new equipment aimed at developing the infrastructure in the port of Aden, southern Yemen, and enhancing its operational efficiency, with Japanese funding.
The program said in a tweet on its account on the “X” platform, on Sunday: “The equipment for the new wireless communications system that will be installed in the container port in Aden has arrived, to improve its efficiency and operational capacity, and to enable it to provide better services to stakeholders and enhance trade movement.” and economic growth in the region.”
He added that this system will enable faster access to information and seamless integration with the warehouse management system, increasing productivity and enhancing port operations.
These new equipment come within the framework of the second phase of the “Aden Port Efficiency Improvement Project” implemented by the United Nations Development Programme, with funding of $5 million provided by the Japanese government, to enhance the port’s capacity by creating more efficient infrastructure.
>The UN program stressed that improving the port’s operational capacity would “ensure the efficient and cost-effective delivery of humanitarian and development aid and commercial goods to the Yemeni people, and also supports Yemen’s immediate and long-term economic recovery efforts.”
