Today, Thursday, Ambassador Khaled Mahfouz Bahah opened the headquarters of the Yemeni community in Cairo, in the presence of members of the diplomatic corps at the embassy, and the Deputy Director of the Yemeni Cultural Center in Cairo, A. Nabil Subaie, and Director of the Yemeni Youth Club, A. Faisal Noman.
At the ceremony, Bahah gave a speech that began with a historical narration of the Yemeni Youth Club, within which the community’s headquarters is located, stressing that the club’s path is a historical record of an important stage in the lives of the Yemeni people.
He indicated his keenness to follow up on the stages of restoration and rehabilitation of the building, given its importance and the moral value it embodies for generations.
He stressed the need for the administrative body to maintain its symbolic cohesion and strengthen volunteer work, indicating that the community needs full support from everyone, and to renew it with youthful blood and energies to reactivate it and establish the foundations of institutional work.
Ambassador Bahah presented the vision for developing the community’s programs and plans, and ways to enhance its presence among the community’s members.
He explained the importance of scheduling the regular annual program for the community’s national activities, praising its role in stabilizing the educational process and its interventions to reduce school dropout.
He stressed the need to accommodate students in Yemeni schools, and prepare for the integrated community school project.
He explained that the embassy and the medical attaché intend to hold the first medical forum in partnership with the community to develop a vision for solving the complex problems of the medical file, which began with guidance and educating patients about their treatment paths and overcoming their difficulties.
He called for expanding the activities of the cultural community in coordination and partnership with the Yemeni Cultural Center in Cairo, which is launching the Cultural Week, to deliver a humanitarian message about the intertwining and connection of Yemeni and Egyptian culture and its role as a lever for intimate relations between the two countries.
Ambassador Bahah also presented the embassy’s efforts in preparing a project for psychological support for war victims, to overcome its dire effects on society.
The head of the community, A. Omar Babtain gave a speech in which he explained the importance of the headquarters in strengthening institutional work in the community, thanking Ambassador Bahah for his support and care for the community, since the beginning of its formation.
Ambassador Bahah toured the headquarters, getting to know A. Babtain and the Secretary-General of the community, Dr. Muhammad Al-Humairi on the mechanism of its structure, the division of its functional offices, and its role in enhancing the momentum of the community’s activity and vitality.
