The electricity crisis in the Yemeni city of Aden worsened today, Sunday, after the Saudi fuel grant that covered the city’s electricity needs stopped.
The cessation of the grant caused an almost complete power outage in the city, as residents suffer from power outages for long hours every day.
A private source in Aden Electricity said that all generating stations in the city were out of service due to running out of fuel, with the exception of the Al-Ra'is station, which has a generating capacity of only 70 megawatts.
The source added that the fuel ship that supplies the city with fuel is scheduled to arrive at the beginning of next November.
The residents called on the competent authorities to provide fuel to operate the power plants and solve the electricity crisis that the city is suffering from.
