Central Bank Governor Ahmed Ghalib discussed, today, with the US Federal Bank delegation, cooperation relations and ways to enhance them, on the sidelines of the 2024 annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, currently being held in Washington, DC.
The meeting touched on the banking services provided by the US Federal Bank to the Central Bank of Yemen and assistance in building the capabilities of its employees in various functions, enabling it to carry out its duties with high professionalism and serve the Yemeni banking system.
In another meeting, the Governor of the Central Bank discussed with the US Treasury team cooperation in the field of combating money laundering and terrorist financing, upgrading the work of the banking sector, and enhancing the capabilities of the Central Bank in monitoring and supervising banks so that the Central Bank and the banking sector can fulfill the obligations of the Republic of Yemen. In combating money laundering and terrorist financing, and facilitating the access of the Yemeni banking sector to the global financial system.
