Some social media circulated a video clip showing an individual being assaulted by members of the military police, and the leadership of the Southern Military Police Brigade clarified the truth of this incident.

She indicated that the person who appeared in the clip was not a civilian, but rather a soldier who was drunk and carrying a weapon inside a civilian car. When the police officers tried to deal with him in a professional manner and asked him to hand over the weapon, he responded to them with a barrage of insults and insults, describing them with obscene words that were not appropriate for a member of the armed forces.

Clarification 

With regard to the video that was circulated on social media, in which a person was assaulted by our members, and the attempt that accompanied this video to distort the reputation and morals of members of the military police, we explain to everyone here the following:- 

First

The person who appeared in the video clip was not a civilian, but rather a soldier. He was drunk and had a weapon. When our members tried to speak to him respectfully and ask him about the weapon he had in the civilian car he was driving, he responded with rude words and disrespect for the soldiers standing under the blazing sun, describing them as mercenaries and others.

Secondly

When the aforementioned person was arrested, one of our officers approached him to reach an understanding, so he immediately assaulted the military police officer and reached out to hit him (trying to slap the officer) before the individuals dealt with him and surrounded him.

Third 

This person had a prior agreement with the other person (his friend) who was with him in the car that he would provoke our people and attack them while his friend was filming.

In order to gain people's sympathy for them, they published a short part of the video and did not publish the entire video that his colleague filmed, especially when he was cursing, verbally speaking, and assaulting our personnel. Rather, he published the last event, which was the moment our personnel dealt with his friend who attacked us, in an attempt to defame and distort our brave soldiers who are witnessing. Everyone has high morals, humility, perfect grooming, and discipline in their tasks.

Fourth 

The aforementioned person was imprisoned and investigated about the motives that made him carry out this physical and verbal assault on our soldiers and officers. He will be transferred to the prosecution and military judiciary soon.

We assure everyone that the attempts to defame the Southern Military Police Forces and distort their reputation are nothing but miserable, failed and despicable attempts that will not achieve their goal. They will fail, God willing, because we are rightful people and we carry out our duty with all professionalism, honesty and respect, and all the citizens of Aden testified to the soldiers of the Military Police Brigade about this.

We will strike with an iron hand and renew our affirmation that we will continue to prevent the spread of weapons in our capital....
