The UN envoy reveals the details of his meeting with the leaders of the Congress Party... and the party’s vision regarding ending the crisis

The office of the UN envoy to Yemen revealed details of discussions with the General People’s Congress Party, which confirmed the general vision to end the existing crisis in the country.
A statement by the Office of the UN Envoy said on Sunday: “The Office of the UN Special Envoy to Yemen met on Thursday with leaders from the General People’s Congress to continue political dialogues with Yemeni parties and entities to determine the necessary steps to move forward with the commitments made by the parties and from... In order to start the political process.”
According to the statement, “The General People’s Congress stressed during the discussions the need to achieve parallel progress in political, economic and security measures, warning against decisions that may lead to unbalanced gains. It called for a political solution that preserves national sovereignty.”
He added: “The General People’s Congress also affirmed that unifying the central bank is the starting point for stabilizing the economy and easing tensions, in addition to using transparent measures to build confidence and achieving firm international guarantees to advance progress towards peace in Yemen.”
