The head of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, expressed, on Thursday, his aspiration to increase US efforts to intercept and stop Iranian arms shipments flowing to Yemen.
In his meeting with the US Ambassador to Yemen, Stephen Fagin, in Riyadh, Al-Alimi indicated that these shipments destabilize the security and stability of Yemen and the entire region.
The meeting discussed developments in the economic file and the international support necessary to limit the repercussions of the continued cessation of oil exports and the rise in maritime shipping prices, in addition to the living conditions affected by the attacks launched by the Houthis.
Alimi reiterated the position of the Republic of Yemen on regional issues, especially its condemnation of Israeli violations against the Palestinian people, and its support for their right to establish their independent, fully sovereign state, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
