Private Yemeni sources revealed the recent arrival of dozens of Saudis to Sanaa, Saada and the Houthi-controlled areas, all of them wanted by Riyadh’s security forces or opposition members. It was also verified that 4 leading elements who have been involved for years with Al-Qaeda through Al-Bayda Governorate have arrived in Sana'a.
The sources reported that these Saudis arrived individually or in batches and via multiple routes in direct coordination with the Houthis, some of whom crossed the border and others came via a third country.
The Houthis secured housing for these Saudis and held several meetings with them over the past months and weeks, most of them in a building consisting of a large villa in Haddah, south of Sanaa.
The sources indicated that the villa where meetings are frequently held is also used as a residence for Saudi opposition figures.
The meetings resulted in the formation of what they called a “military council,” where the organizational form of the council and the naming of tasks were agreed upon, in addition to the appointment of officials for the most prominent Saudi regions.
