The Saudi Ministry of Interior announced, on Saturday, the execution of a death sentence (a ta’zir) against 4 Saudi citizens and two Yemenis in the Najran region, after they were found guilty of smuggling hashish and amphetamine tablets into the Kingdom, according to a ministry statement published by the Saudi Press Agency, SPA.
p>The Saudi Ministry of Interior said in its statement: “Ahmed Muhammad Ali Qashwi Al Salama, Yahya Saleh Hussein Al-Wayli, Yemeni nationals, Hadi bin Salem bin Ali Al-Mahamid Al-Yami, and Salem bin Rakhim bin Saleh Al Mansour Al-Yami), (Ali bin Hadi bin Salem bin Saleh Al Qarad), and (Abdullah bin Ahmed bin Ibrahim Sharia), Saudi nationals, for smuggling hashish and amphetamine tablets, according to what SPA reported.
The Saudi Ministry of Interior added: “By the grace of God, the security authorities were able to arrest the aforementioned perpetrators, and their investigation resulted in them being accused of committing the crime, and referring them to the competent court. A ruling was issued against them requiring that what was attributed to them be proven and that they be killed (as a discretionary punishment).” The ruling became final after it was appealed and then upheld by the Supreme Court, and a royal order was issued to enforce what was decided according to Sharia law,” according to the statement.
The Saudi Ministry of Interior confirmed that “the death sentence has been carried out as a punishment for the perpetrators: (Ahmed Muhammad Ali Qashwi Al Salama), (Yahya Saleh Hussein Al-Waili), Yemeni nationals, and (Hadi bin Salem bin Ali Al-Mahamid Al-Yami), And (Salem bin Rakhim bin Saleh Al Mansour Al-Yami), (Ali bin Hadi bin Salem bin Saleh Al Qarad), and (Abdullah bin Ahmed bin Ibrahim Sharia), Saturday, 4/30/1446 AH, corresponding to 2/11/2024. AD in the Najran region.
