The Yemeni city of Taiz witnessed a crime that sparked a wave of anger, after it became clear that a girl was killed “as a result of being injected with a poisoned needle into her neck, by 5 people, including 3 of her brothers,” because she “refused to marry her cousin.”
p>Sources reported that “Ru’a Ahmed died two days ago, in the Sabr al-Mawadim district in the city of Taiz,” southwest of Yemen, after being injected with a needle.
The Taiz Governorate Police opened an extensive investigation into the incident, and arrested the five relatives accused of her murder, and the investigation is still ongoing.
According to the Ministry of Interior of the Yemeni government, the investigation into the crime continues.
It is noteworthy that killings of this type are known as “honor killings” in Yemen, and among their victims are girls who refuse to marry according to their parents’ wishes.
