Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak approved the comprehensive strategy for capacity building in the Coast Guard, which includes advanced training plans and modern equipment to support its readiness and ability to protect the Yemeni coasts and islands and combat various threats in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
This came during a meeting with the Prime Minister, today, Sunday, in the capital, Aden, with the head of the Coast Guard Department, Major General Khaled Al-Qamali, who briefed him on the objectives of the strategy and the role relied upon in strengthening the capabilities of the Coast Guard forces to protect territorial waters and combat smuggling of all kinds.

Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak expressed his aspiration to support the brothers in the coalition to support legitimacy led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen’s partners in brotherly and friendly countries to support the implementation of the strategy, and to support the government’s efforts to enhance maritime security and the capabilities and efficiency of workers, given the strategic location. For Yemen and its importance to the security and stability of the region and the protection of international shipping lines.. directing the Minister of Interior to work with the presidency of the department to implement the strategy and achieve the goals sought from it.
The meeting reviewed the status of the Coast Guard forces and the efforts made to enhance and develop their performance, the achievements they have achieved and the steps being implemented to improve their security and operational performance to protect territorial waters.
The Prime Minister stressed the importance of strengthening international cooperation and partnerships to support the capabilities of the Coast Guard in facing challenges... pointing to the vital role of the Yemeni Coast Guard forces in protecting ports, coasts and territorial waters.
