The Anti-Narcotics Department in Lahj Governorate on Sunday evening carried out a campaign that included a number of pharmacies in the city of Al-Houta, which had received reports of their involvement in selling narcotic pills without prescriptions, or in ways that exceed the approved health laws. Commander Faraj stated that the amount of narcotic pills seized was very large, which indicates the seriousness of the situation and the extent of the spread of this phenomenon, which negatively affects society, especially the youth.
Commander Faraj explained that selling narcotic pills without prescriptions is a serious violation of the laws, and increases the risk of young people becoming addicted and using illicit narcotic substances. He also confirmed that many illegal pharmacies exploit young people and sell these pills without restrictions, which contributes to the spread of addiction and negatively affects public health and community security.
The Director of the Drug Control Administration confirmed that every pharmacy or person involved in selling narcotic pills illegally will be subject to legal accountability, adding that the law will be strictly applied to everyone without exception. He pointed out that the security authorities will continue to monitor pharmacies and health institutions to ensure compliance with the laws and limit the illegal exploitation of these materials by some pharmacies.
In his speech, Commander Faraj called on citizens to cooperate with the security authorities and report any suspicious activities related to the sale or promotion of narcotic pills. He stressed the importance of society's role in protecting its children from the dangers of addiction and raising awareness of the danger of narcotic pills that lead to the destruction of mental and physical health.
Commander Faraj explained that the Narcotics Control Department in Lahj has developed integrated plans to limit the spread of drugs in the governorate, by intensifying security campaigns and increasing community awareness about the dangers of addiction. These plans aim to gradually contain this phenomenon and prevent the promotion of drugs in all their forms, whether through pharmacies or through other channels.
In conclusion, Commander Abdul Hadi Ali Abdullah Faraj stressed that combating drugs in Lahj is considered one of his priorities, and that any violations will be faced strictly to protect society, especially young people, from the dangers of addiction.
