Salem Thabet Al-Awlaki, the official spokesman for the Southern Transitional Council, confirmed that the Council will not participate in the new partisan political bloc that a number of political parties in Yemen are working on.

Al-Awlaki said in a press statement that the Southern Transitional Council is closely following the activities of this bloc, stressing that the Council will not be part of it, and will not participate in any of its activities.

Al-Awlaki added that the Transitional Council will later announce its detailed position on the outcomes of this bloc, stressing that the Council has its own vision regarding the future of the south.

The Yemeni parties and forces within the legitimacy are seeking to announce a new party bloc from the capital, Aden, under the auspices of the American Democratic Institute (NDI), and with the support of the US Development Agency.
