Aden - Journalists and media professionals organized a solidarity stand in Aden today, to commemorate the third anniversary of the assassination of journalist Rasha Al-Harazi and her fetus.
It was stated in the statement of the stance
From here... where we met death face to face... where the souls of Rasha Al-Harazi and her fetus rose... and our blood mixed to quench the seed of a bitter struggle in the face of death's projects... from here we return.
It was death and birth from the side... And here we are back today... from the same place... standing at the crime scene... to confirm - after all the pain we have been through - that this city will not surrender to the imaginations of the killers, and that this crime It was one of dozens of similar crimes that targeted innocent civilians and military personnel, including judges and journalists. And activists...we return today to affirm that our city - like any city on this earth - deserves life.
Rasha Al-Harazi and her fetus were not just a number in an unfortunate accident, or two names on the lists of assassination victims, but rather a plan for chaos, carefully planned, to target public tranquility, spread fear, and abort any attempt to normalize life.
In the last entry the deceased wrote in her diary
Rasha said, “Her hopes for the future are to form a stable family and a model family entity, to achieve her dream of becoming an international photographer, for our future to guarantee common successes, for the war to end and for us to be reunited with all our loved ones.” That was before the hands of treachery reached it, and it turned into another story, inspiring many around the world, in the most difficult way.
Rasha was a mother and a journalist. She believed in her educational role as a maker of generations. The concerns of life did not diminish her motherhood, nor did her motherhood diminish her ambition. ~Rasha, on her way to give birth to her child, was an example of the struggle of the “mother” and the “woman.” The sanctity of our heritage and our most established traditions has been robbed by violence.
As we declare our demand for justice, and as we commemorate the International Day to End Impunity. We urge the authorities and concerned parties to make more efforts to uncover the perpetrators and impose deterrent punishment on them..
At a time when we affirm our categorical support for the judicial and security authorities in confronting systematic sabotage projects, we renew our confidence and appreciation for the cooperation and interest we have observed, and we call on them to expedite the case procedures, bring the perpetrators to a fair trial, and implement the maximum penalties against them
In conclusion, I can only thank all the brothers and sisters, friends, colleagues, male and female colleagues, and loved ones who expressed solidarity, support and advocacy, for the sake of life, hope and the future of the country above all else.
