Employees of the judiciary in Aden Governorate announced a comprehensive strike next Tuesday, November 12, to protest what they described as “arbitrary deductions” from their salaries, and to force them to sign pledges to stop the strike.
This announcement came in a statement issued by the administrative body of the Administrative Employees Union of the Judicial Authority in the governorate, where the union affirmed its adherence to the legitimate rights of employees and its rejection of any attempts to back down from their demands.
The statement indicated that the decision to strike came after the failure of negotiations with the leadership of the judiciary, which failed to provide satisfactory solutions to the employees’ demands.
The statement said: “We in the leadership of the union, and after extensive study of the current situation, have decided to escalate and announce a comprehensive strike, in order to preserve our rights and dignity.”
The statement called on all employees to join hands and abide by the strike decision until all demands are met.
