The Al-Jaadna tribe announced, in an official statement, the resumption of cutting off the international line that passes through its lands in the Lahmar region of Abyan Governorate, in order to demand the release of Lieutenant Colonel Ali Ashal Al-Jaadani, who was kidnapped several months ago.
The statement stated that the tribe had exhausted all peaceful means to demand the release of the kidnapped person, and that it had not received any serious response from the responsible authorities in Aden Governorate and the Arab coalition.
The statement indicated that the tribe had received support from other tribes, such as the Bakazim and Al-Maraksha, who cut part of the international line in their lands in solidarity with the kidnapper’s case.
The tribe called on the leadership of the Transitional Council and the Arab Coalition to intervene immediately to release Lieutenant Colonel Ali Ashal, warning that the continuation of the situation as it is may lead to an exacerbation of the crisis and an expansion of the circle of protests.
Scoop 24 News republishes the statement as follows:
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Statement regarding the resumption of work of sectors on international lines - Abyan Governorate
Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, and prayers and peace be upon the most honorable of the prophets and messengers.
We, the Al-Jaadna tribe, explain to public opinion that we tried by all peaceful means, for five months, to demand the release of the kidnapped Lieutenant Colonel Ali Ashal Al-Jaadani, and we knocked on all the doors of officials in Aden Governorate, and we received nothing but false promises, and the Director of Security of Abyan Governorate, Al-Ameed, graciously tried with us. Ali Nasser Al-Kazmi (Abu Mishal) did everything he could, but he found nothing but disdain and disdain for Abyan and its men. We sent a message and statement to the coalition (the UAE) at the conclusion of the tribal meeting in Zanzibar on 10/12/2024 AD to intervene and release Lieutenant Colonel Ali Ashal Al-Jaadani, but we did not find listening ears, and accordingly We have come together and decided to cut off the international line that passes through our land, the Lahmar region, with all military vehicles and vehicles belonging to the coalition and the transitional movement.
We went to our brothers, the sheikhs and chiefs of the Bakazim Ahwar family, and our brothers, the Maraqashah, and we asked them, on the basis of tribe, neighbourliness, kinship, and lineage, to stand with us and support us by cutting off the international coastal line that passes through their land. They graciously responded to our request and carried out the work of the sector on their land.
Therefore, we send a message to the leadership of the Transitional Council and the coalition (the UAE) that you should not bet on our long patience, for it has run out.
We send a message to the leaders and members of the transitional military formations to stand with us and put pressure on their leadership to quickly release Lieutenant Colonel Ali Ashal Al-Jaadani, and at the very least they should avoid crossing our land to avoid strife and out of respect for ancestors and customs.
We send a message to the tribes of Abyan and the south in general, that we welcome those who came to us and announced their support for our position, and the positions are ancestral and religious.
