Local sources confirmed the accuracy of what the media reported about the death of a detainee under torture inside a political security prison in the city of Ma’rib. 

The sources explained that Nayef Muhammad al-Husseini al-Muradi, a soldier of the government forces in Ma’rib, died inside the detention center after being forcibly disappeared since 2021.

The sources added that previous directives issued by a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Sultan Al-Arada, to release him were rejected by the Director of Political Security in Marib, Ahmed Hanshal. 

The sources indicated that the victim’s family received a report from a prisoner about his death, before his body was found in Ma’rib General Hospital.
