A member of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, met today with the Chinese Chargé d'Affairs, Zhao Zheng, to discuss the continued escalation of the Houthi militia against international shipping and regional and international efforts to bring peace to Yemen.

During the meeting, Al-Zubaidi appreciated the pivotal role played by China in supporting the Yemeni people during their ordeal, its humanitarian and development support for the fish, ports and agricultural sectors, and the rehabilitation of infrastructure destroyed by the war.

For his part, the Chinese Chargé d'Affaires affirmed his country's government's support for the Presidential Command Council and the government's efforts aimed at alleviating the suffering of citizens and providing them with basic services.
