Today, in the capital, Aden, an agreement was signed to implement the Bir Al-Arous - Aqour - Wadi Bin Jaafar - Al-Maflahi road project in the Yafa’ districts of Lahj Governorate, at a total cost amounting to 3 billion two hundred and forty-nine million riyals, with government funding.
The agreement, signed by the Minister of Public Works and Roads, Engineer Salem Al-Huraizi, the Governor of Lahj, Major General Ahmed Abdullah Al-Turki, and the Undersecretary for the Roads Sector, Engineer Walid Radman, stipulates the completion of the 7-kilometre-long road, under the supervision of the Ministry’s Roads Sector and the implementation of the Saleh Al-Saqqaf Trading and Contracting Establishment. At the signing ceremony, which was attended by the Deputy Minister of Public Works and Roads, Dr. Muhammad Thabet, Minister Al-Harizi stressed the importance of this strategic project that connects the Yafa areas with a number of directorates and governorates, noting that the government’s intervention to implement this project came in response to the initiatives of the citizens who completed the construction work. The initial contribution was estimated at approximately $10 million.
For his part, the Governor of Lahj confirmed that the road will contribute to improving transportation and linking more than three districts in Yafa with other governorates, and will have a positive impact on facilitating the lives of citizens and stimulating economic activity in the region.
The signing was attended by the Secretary-General of the Local Council in Lahj, Awad Al-Salahi, Assistant Undersecretary Ali Amer, and a number of directors of Yafa’ directorates.
