China, Saudi Arabia and Iran affirmed their support for a comprehensive political solution in Yemen, in accordance with internationally recognized principles under the auspices of the United Nations.
This came in the second meeting, held by the joint (Saudi-Chinese-Iranian) tripartite committee to follow up on the “Beijing” agreement in Riyadh, according to the official Saudi News Agency (SPA).
The two sides (Saudi and Iranian) affirmed their commitment to implementing the “Beijing” agreement in all its provisions, and their continued efforts to strengthen good-neighborly relations between their countries.
The three countries called for an immediate halt to the Israeli aggression in both Palestine and Lebanon, warning that the continuation of the cycle of violence and escalation constitutes a serious threat to the security of the region and the world, in addition to maritime security.
Meanwhile, Russia stressed the importance of uniting efforts to establish a sustainable Yemeni national dialogue, under the auspices of the United Nations, to reach a political solution to the crisis.
The Russian Embassy in Yemen stated that Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov discussed with the Vice President of the pro-Houthi Congress Party, Ahmed Ali, the development of the military, political and humanitarian situation in Yemen.
It indicated that the need to quickly calm tensions in this strategically important region of the world and prevent the escalation of the armed confrontation was emphasized.
For its part, Iran denied Western accusations of its involvement in destabilizing navigation in the Red Sea, where the Houthis, backed by Tehran, have been launching attacks against ships for a year.
At the International Maritime Organization meeting in London, Ali Akbar Safaei, Iranian Assistant Minister of Roads and Urban Development, described the accusations of Western delegations, especially the American delegation. It is weak.
He pointed out that the Houthis are independent and influential in the region, and make their decisions freely and according to their interests, denouncing the American-British attacks on Yemen.
He pointed out that Tehran emphasizes pursuing a peaceful solution to the Yemeni crisis.
