A member of the Presidential Command Council, Major General Aidaroos Qasim Al-Zubaidi, received today, Thursday, the Ambassador of the Republic of France to Yemen, Catherine Corm Kammoun.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in the political and humanitarian situation in Yemen, and the consequences of the efforts made by the regional and international communities aimed at ending the war and bringing peace in light of the Houthi escalation on land and at sea.
Major General Al-Zubaidi reiterated the importance of concerted local, regional and international efforts to put an end to terrorism, which is practiced by the Houthi militias supported by the Iranian regime and the extremist groups that are linked to them in ideology, goals and behaviour.
The meeting touched on the difficult economic conditions that Yemen is going through as a result of the Houthi militia’s targeting of oil and gas export ports. In this regard, Al-Zubaidi stressed that the Presidential Leadership Council and the government are relying greatly on the support of brothers and friends, with France at the forefront, to help Yemen and get out of this situation. For her part, the French Ambassador renewed her country's government's position in support of the Presidential Command Council and the internationally recognized government to get the country out of its crisis, and its commitment to supporting regional and international efforts to stop the war and bring peace, and the efforts made by brotherly and friendly countries to protect navigation lines in international waters.
