British naval sources announced that they had received a report about a maritime incident off the port of Aden, in the south of the country.
The British Maritime Trade Operations Authority (UKMTO) said in a report that it had received a report about a yacht being pursued by unidentified small boats 74 nautical miles southwest of the city of Aden.
The report added that the captain of the yacht reported, on Thursday, that about 12 small boats continued to follow him for two hours as he passed through the area where the accident occurred.
The captain indicated that “despite performing evasive maneuvers, one of the boats was able to approach the yacht within one nautical mile.”
The British Maritime Authority confirmed that “the yacht and all its crew members are safe and are heading towards the next port.”
It renewed its call to all ships passing through the region to pass with caution, and to report any suspicious activity on its way.
