Severe humanitarian repercussions caused by the Houthi militia attacks on Yemeni oil facilities in the east of the country, and international shipping lines in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
These repercussions were the focus of discussions by the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, with the US Special Envoy to Yemen, Tim Lenderking, and the US Ambassador to Yemen, Stephen Feigen.
During the meeting, Al-Alimi stressed the importance of redoubling international efforts to implement the Security Council resolution banning the export of Iranian weapons to the terrorist Houthi militias.
The meeting covered discussions about improving living conditions in the country and reducing the humanitarian repercussions of Houthi militia attacks on oil installations and international shipping lines.
The meeting also touched on ways to strengthen the relationship between the United States of America and Yemen, in all fields, and the required American support for the Yemeni economy.
The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council heard a briefing from the American envoy regarding possible regional and international variables in light of the results of the American elections, in addition to his recent contacts to reduce the escalation.

He appreciated “the United States’ positions alongside the Yemeni people and their legitimate leadership, and its humanitarian and development interventions in various fields.”

In the same context, Al-Alimi discussed, on Monday, with the Head of the European Union Mission, Gabriel Munera Vinales, and the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Yemen, Hubert Bigger, the latest developments in the local situation, and the economic and financing challenges resulting from the cessation of oil exports as a result of the Houthi attacks on oil facilities< /p>
It also addressed the repercussions of the Houthi attacks on international shipping lines, and their impact on the humanitarian, living, and service conditions of citizens.
