The US ambassador to Yemen, Stephen Fagin, said on Tuesday that the world is closely monitoring the Houthi group's practices against Yemenis and the attacks it launches in the Red Sea.
Fagin condemned the Iranian-backed group's violations of rights and freedoms against Yemenis "and its adoption of behavior that is not acceptable to the Yemenis and does not belong to them."
During his meeting with the Speaker of the Yemeni House of Representatives, Sultan Al-Barakani, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, Fagin affirmed the US administration’s support for Yemen, its constitutional legitimacy, and continued efforts to achieve stability in the region.
He indicated that his country's position is firm and will not change regarding preserving the security, stability and unity of Yemen and ending the crisis, pointing out that this position is receiving attention at the highest levels of the American administration.
