A continuous escalation by the Houthi militias on the fighting fronts in various Yemeni regions, inflicting great human losses, some of which were recently revealed.
As a result of its recent military escalation on several fronts since last October, the Houthi militia lost dozens of its members and leaders, without mentioning the place or timing of their killing.
Military sources told Al-Ain News, “More than 80 Houthis were killed by American bombing during the past two months, including a number of field commanders working in the so-called “missile forces and naval forces.”
The sources added that the militias did not announce these losses and kept them among what they called “secret information” in the confrontation with America.
The killing of senior Houthi leaders
The Houthi militia acknowledged the killing of 15 of its leaders, saying that “the majority of them held high military ranks,” in confrontations with the joint forces, the National Resistance, and the Yemeni army on a number of combat fronts within less than a week.
A military source told Al Ain News that the Houthi leaders whose death the militias admitted were killed in the recent confrontations in Taiz and the western coast, which witnessed offensive operations by the militias, in which dozens were killed.
Since the beginning of this November, the Houthi militias have admitted the death of 25 members, saying that “most of them are field commanders and hold high military ranks,” according to what Al-Ain News tracked.
What the Houthi militias published about the names of their dead, in the funeral operations that were held during the last period, showed the killing of a number of high-ranking people among its leaders, including the ranks of “brigadier general,” “colonel,” “major,” and “captain.” In addition to officers with the ranks of first and second lieutenant.
During last October, the militias admitted the killing of 28 members in their ranks, the majority of whom held senior military ranks.
During the recent period, the militias had sent large military reinforcements to the western coast and the borders of the regions of Taiz, Lahj, and Al-Dhalea, in an effort to wage a new round of war.
The militias failed to make any progress despite a series of attack attempts on a number of fronts, especially on the west coast.
The Houthi militias rarely announce their losses, as the killing of their officers is a painful blow to them, as these leaders received extensive training and military qualification in military academies and colleges.
Houthi's secrecy
The Houthi militia conceals its losses among members in every offensive operation it launches. This is to maintain the morale of its members involved in its ranks.
The Houthi militias are keen to hold almost daily funeral operations, whether announced or secret, in areas under their control, to urge residents to join their ranks and intensify the crowd.
In this context, Yemeni political analyst Muhammad Salahi told Al-Ain News that the recent escalation carried out by the Houthi militias in Hodeidah Governorate, represented by military mobilization, training and combat maneuvers, and attacking the positions of the National Resistance Forces, has caused the death of dozens in its ranks.
He added that the militias often conceal the numbers of losses they receive while launching offensive operations on the front lines.
