The leader of the Houthi militia, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, confirmed on Thursday the continuation of the attacks launched by his group with “missiles and drones” against Israel, threatening “stronger and greater” attacks, the day after the start of a ceasefire between the Hebrew state and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
The leader of the Houthis from Iran said in a speech broadcast on Al-Masirah TV, “Operations from the Yemeni front in support of the Palestinian people by bombing missiles and marches against the Israeli enemy are continuing.”
Yemen's Houthi rebels, part of the Iranian-led "axis of resistance" against Israel and the United States, have launched drones and missiles at Israel on a regular basis since the start of the Gaza war in October 2023.
They also targeted cargo ships they say are linked to or headed to Israel in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, which has greatly disrupted this vital trade route.
Al-Houthi said, "I hope from everyone in the army and at the popular level that we realize our responsibility to make an effort and seek help from God to help us do what is stronger and greater against the Israeli enemy."
He continued, "We seek on the support front in Yemen, God willing, to do the utmost we can to support the Palestinian people."
