Born in Yemen.. The death of the Jew Shalom Najjar, who executed the “architect of the Holocaust” in Israel

Hebrew media announced the death, at the age of 86, of former prison guard Shalom Najjar, who executed Adolf Eichmann, known as the “architect of the Holocaust,” in Israel in 1962.
The newspaper "Jerusalem Post" reported in its news that Shalom Najjar, who was born in Yemen, "the executioner of the Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann," died yesterday, Wednesday, without mentioning the cause of death.
According to the newspaper, Najjar was born in Yemen, and he and his brother immigrated to Israel. He served as a paratrooper in the Israeli army and then became a guard in the prison in the city of Ramla. The prison officer chose Shalom Najjar to play the role of Eichmann’s executioner.
According to the newspaper, Colonel Eichmann was one of the main figures responsible for the “Final Solution” of the Holocaust (the genocide that occurred during World War II) and was a key figure in managing and enabling the logistics, transportation and deportation of Jews to death and extermination camps, according to the newspaper.
In 1960, Eichmann was arrested by the Mossad in Argentina, where he was living under the name Ricardo Clement.
Eichmann's trial began in 1961 in Jerusalem, and the court sentenced him to death. Shalom Najjar executed Eichmann in Ramla prison in 1962, and ordered the body of the hanged man to be burned and his ashes scattered in the sea. His execution was the only time that an Israeli court issued a death sentence.
Shalom Najjar worked in the Israeli prison system until 1986, after which he retired and delved into religion.
Najjar said that he kept the secret for 30 years, as he was suffering from nightmares after the execution.
