Houthi escalation at sea... targeting a commercial ship in the Gulf of Aden

The British Maritime Trade Operations Authority announced that a commercial ship was attacked off the coast of the city of Aden.
The authority said in a statement seen by Al Ain News that it had received a report about an accident 80 nautical miles south of the city of Aden, located on the coast of the Gulf of Aden.
The Maritime Trade Operations Authority did not announce more information about the ship that was attacked, or whether the ship suffered damage, or losses and injuries to its crew.
The authority indicated that “the authorities are investigating the incident.”
The British Authority advised ships to pass with caution and to report any suspicious activity.
Houthis and targeting ships
On November 21, the Houthi militias targeted a ship off the Yemeni coast of Aden with 12 small boats.
On November 19, the Houthi militia announced that it had targeted a new commercial ship while it was passing through the Red Sea, with a number of ballistic missiles and sea missiles.
Previously, in the same month, the British Maritime Trade Operations Authority announced that a number of commercial ships were subjected to military attacks by missiles, missiles, and drones, off the coasts of Hodeidah, Mokha, and Aden in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab, and the Gulf of Aden.
In late last October, the Houthi militia claimed responsibility for targeting 3 commercial ships in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea, with missiles and drones, causing severe damage to those ships.
The Houthi militias claimed responsibility for targeting more than 200 ships since the start of their naval attacks.
Since last January, American and British forces have been launching strikes as part of a military coalition aimed at curbing the capabilities of the Houthis and limiting their attacks against international shipping lines passing through the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
Since November of last year, the Houthis have launched missile and drone attacks on the movement of ships in the Red Sea region, affecting about 12% of global trade, under the pretext of supporting Gaza and stopping the Israeli war in the Strip.
