The Public Prosecution in Al Dhalea Governorate, this morning, Monday, December 2, 2024, implemented the legal retribution ruling against the convict, Abdul Karim Qasim Ahmed Mohsen, as he was executed by firing squad in the courtyard of the central prison in the Sanah area. This came after it was proven that he was involved in the intentional killing of the victim, Muhammad Abdullah Naji Mohsen.
This measure came in implementation of the decision of the Al-Husayn Court of First Instance, which was upheld by the Al-Dhalea Governorate Court of Appeal, and was approved by the Supreme Court of the Republic. After completing all legal procedures, the Attorney General of the Republic, Judge Qaher Mustafa Ali, issued his directives to implement the ruling.
Despite attempts to persuade the blood relatives to pardon or accept blood money, they insisted on implementing the ruling, as the ruling was read by the President of the Al-Husayn Court of First Instance, Judge Nasr Abdul-Qawi Al-Zubair.
The implementation process witnessed a large official presence, including judges and security personnel, in addition to a large crowd of citizens, under tight protection from the Security Belt forces.
This execution is considered the first since the 2015 war, which reflects the authorities’ efforts to strengthen the rule of law and achieve justice in society.
