A military leader in the 35th Armored Brigade said on Monday that the competent authorities had made no significant effort to do justice to the case of the assassination of the former brigade commander, Adnan Al-Hammadi, expressing his disappointment, as comrades of Al-Hammadi, at the neglect of the presidency, the Ministry of Defense, and the Fourth Military Region in the case of his assassination.
p>Colonel Ali Al-Naqeeb, Humanity Staff of the 35th Armored Brigade and companion of Darb Al-Hammadi, wrote on the fifth anniversary of the latter’s martyrdom, “December 2, 2024 marks the fifth anniversary of the martyrdom of the fighter, Major General / Adnan Muhammad Al-Hammadi, Commander of the 35th Armored Brigade. It is a black day in the history of the forces.” The Yemeni Armed Forces, where the homeland lost one of its most important leaders, and Taiz lost its righteous son, who dedicated himself to defending the dignity of its children and the homeland.”
He continued: “We handed the matter over to the judiciary and the case would take its natural course through the competent authorities, but it remained secret. The competent authorities, represented by the Specialized Criminal Prosecution, did not spend any effort, except for filing an indictment consisting of 11 pages from a file containing More than 600 pages to the criminal court, which returned the file to the prosecution to complete the procedures, and thus the case remained pending despite follow-up by the blood relatives and some of the martyr’s companions.”
The captain added: “It is a crying joke. A few days ago, we were surprised with shocking news that the case had been transferred to the Taiz court, as if it were a passing case. It was not the case of Qaid Hammam like Al-Hammadi. It is known that the Specialized Criminal Court specializes in cases that affect the security of the homeland and target Statesmen, and these issues concern all loyal Yemeni people who believe in the homeland and the republic. We demand justice, which is one of the most beautiful names of God.”
He denounced the position of the leadership of the presidential authority and the Ministry of Defense, saying: “The issue of targeting a military figure of this magnitude does not receive any attention from the President of the State, the Ministry of Defense, and the Commander of the Fourth Military Region, of whom the martyr was one of its members and the first military commander to confront the Houthi coup in Taiz Governorate.”
The captain concluded his speech by saying: “Silence is a disgrace to everyone. Mercy and immortality go to the martyr, Commander Adnan Al-Hammadi, his companion, Colonel Abdul Basit Al-Qadi, and all the martyrs of the nation.”
Al-Hammadi’s family issued a statement today, Monday, which coincides with the fifth anniversary of his assassination, in which it held the presidential authority responsible for not doing justice to him, and called on his supporters to escalate and protest to demand that the details of his assassination be revealed and that those involved be brought to court.
