Today, the Ministry of the Interior closed the smart card system network at the Aden Civil Status Office, in response to the local authority’s rejection of unilateral decisions regarding assignments or appointments of directors of government facilities by the ministries, in violation of the effective Local Authority Law No. (4) of 2000 AD.

The Deputy Governor of Aden confirmed that the leadership of the Authority stands and supports all the efforts and activities carried out by the Director of the Civil Status and Civil Registry Branch in Aden, Colonel/ Issam Omar Faqira 

The local authority, led by His Excellency the Minister of State and Governor of Aden Governorate, rejects any unilateral decisions by the Ministry of Interior related to changing or appointing a replacement for the branch director unless coordination and prior consultation are made with it, as it is primarily concerned with the affairs of the governorate.
