This morning, the Public Prosecution in Shabwa Governorate executed the death sentence against the convict, Abdullah Salem Abdullah Al-Hajri, after convicting him of the premeditated murder of the victim, Abdul Salam Ali Muhammad Al-Mahil.
The ruling was issued by the Upper Egypt Court of First Instance on January 5, 2021, where the convict was convicted of committing premeditated murder in a tragic incident, and Abdullah Al-Hajri was punished with retribution by firing squad until death, in implementation of justice and the application of God’s law.
The death sentence was carried out in the courtyard of the central prison in the city of Ataq, in the presence of the Chief Public Prosecutor of the governorate, Judge Dr. Saleh Ahmed Al-Madhaji, the Deputy Director General of the Governorate Police, Brigadier General Ahmed Nasser Al-Ahwal, the director of the central prison, Colonel Saleh Al-Dahboul, and the Deputy Prosecutor of Investigation and Prisons, Judge Ali. Al-Qarbou, the Deputy Prosecutor of Upper Egypt, Judge Sameh Al-Zuka, in addition to a number of judges and security leaders.
Despite the authorities' encouragement of pardon for blood relatives, they insisted on implementing the sentence, stressing their desire to implement retaliation in accordance with Sharia rulings.
This measure comes within the framework of the Public Prosecution’s commitment to strengthening the rule of law and achieving justice, and reflects the keenness of the judicial and security authority in Shabwa Governorate to ensure the security and stability of society.
