A British authority announces that a ship was attacked near the Bab al-Mandab Strait

The British Maritime Trade Authority announced an incident targeting a ship near the strategic Bab al-Mandab Strait in the Red Sea.
It said in a report that the incident occurred one hundred and five nautical miles northwest of Hodeidah Governorate.
She added that the ship was out of control and drifting in the target site, and also poses a threat to shipping traffic in Bab al-Mandab.
Noting that the coalition forces evacuated the crew to Djibouti, and that the authorities are investigating the incident, renewing the warning to ships to sail with caution and to report any suspicious activities in the area.
The Houthis had said that they had targeted two hundred and eleven ships since the start of their attacks in November 2023 against ships linked to the Israeli occupation, the United States of America, and Britain.
The leader of the group, Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi, stated that during this week they carried out a large and widespread operation targeting several American warships.
Last Monday, US Central Command announced that it had confronted an armed attack launched by the Houthi group, targeting two American destroyers as they were crossing the Gulf of Aden in southern Yemen.
In addition, a research report stressed the need for Western capitals to re-evaluate their strategy towards the Houthis, stressing the failure of the international arms embargo imposed on them to prevent them from obtaining increasingly advanced weapons from Iran and other sources.
The report published by the British Institute for International Strategic Studies stated that, a year after the Houthi attacks on ships, Western governments are participating in limited military measures against them, and there is no complete political strategy.
