Emirati newspaper: Al-Houthi responds to the rapprochement of Yemeni forces with fire

A politician in the Yemeni National Resistance survived, on Monday, an assassination attempt carried out by a Houthi militia gang in Ma’rib Governorate, east of the country.
The Emirati newspaper Al-Ain News said, citing its Yemeni sources, that an armed gang affiliated with the Houthi militia intercepted Kamel Al-Khoudani, head of the political office of the National Resistance in Ibb Governorate, while he was heading to the city of Ma’rib to attend a political event there.
According to the same source, the armed attack on the National Resistance delegation revealed the Houthi militias’ annoyance at the rapprochement between the forces of Yemen in response to calls made by the Presidential Council, headed by Vice President Tariq Saleh, to unify efforts against the coup militias.
The Yemeni government accused the Houthi militias of being behind the attack on Al-Khoudani while he was heading to the city of Ma’rib, which resulted in two of his companions being seriously injured.
The Yemeni Minister of Information, Muammar Al-Eryani, said that he made a phone call to Kamel Al-Khoudani, head of the Political Bureau of the National Resistance in Ibb Governorate, to check on his health and congratulate him on his survival from the sinful terrorist assassination attempt.
He added, "This heinous crime, which comes at a time of rapprochement between the political and national components, and the unification of efforts and capabilities to confront the Iranian expansionist project and its Houthi tool, confirms the militias' continued efforts to strike at national unity and political consensus, and to seek to undermine any efforts aimed at restoring the state and stabilizing the situation." Security and stability.”
The Yemeni minister urged "the political forces to thwart these malicious plans and take firm steps towards unifying the National Front in the battle to restore the state and overthrow the coup."
He stressed that the Yemeni people have become well aware of the methods of the Houthi militias, and their bets on fueling strife and sowing division among Yemenis, and employing them for the benefit of their destructive project.
The Yemeni minister expressed his confidence in the ability of the security services to track down and arrest the perpetrators of this incident, bring them to justice to receive their just and deterrent punishment, and take all necessary measures to ensure the maintenance of security and stability in the liberated areas.
He also urged the security services to strike with an iron fist anyone who dares to undermine security and public tranquility in the areas of the internationally recognized Yemeni government.
