The Minister of Defense meets with the British Ambassador and the Chargé d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy to discuss developments in the situation in Yemen

The Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Mohsen Muhammad Al-Daari, met today, Wednesday, with the British Ambassador to Yemen, Abda Sharif, and the Chargé d'Affairs of the Chinese Embassy, Zhao Qing, in two separate meetings to discuss the latest developments in the situation in Yemen.
Meeting with the British Ambassador:
Lieutenant General Al-Daari discussed with Ambassador Sharif the developments in the situation in the region, including the continued attacks by the Houthi terrorist militia on commercial ships and maritime shipping lines. He stressed that the security of maritime navigation and the stability of the region depend greatly on supporting the capabilities of the Yemeni armed forces in confronting the Houthis and restoring state institutions. He stressed that the Yemenis' experiences with the Houthis, who claim the divine right to rule, show that peace cannot be achieved with these militias, no matter how many concessions are made to them.
Meeting with the Chargé d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy:
In the meeting with Zhao Qing, the Minister of Defense praised the bilateral relations between Yemen and China, expressing his aspiration to enhance cooperation between the armies of the two countries, especially in the areas of training, qualification and transfer of expertise. He pointed out that the Iranian regime's continued support for the Houthis and weapons smuggling will lead to instability in the region.
For his part, the Chargé d'Affairs of the Chinese Embassy affirmed his country's support for Yemen and the Presidential Leadership Council in their efforts towards achieving a lasting and sustainable peace.
The meetings were attended by the Director of the Office of the Minister of Defense, Major General Abdul-Hakim Al-Shuaibi, and our country’s military attaché in Riyadh, Brigadier General Yahya Al-Wael.
