The Governor of Socotra calls on the Arab coalition to respect the will of the people of the south and exercise restraint

The Governor of Socotra Governorate, Raafat Al-Thaqli, issued an urgent statement, warning of the repercussions of the recent events in the archipelago, and called on all parties to exercise restraint and give priority to the interests of the nation and the citizen.
Al-Thaqali stressed that what is happening in the south and Socotra is a natural result of the accumulation of crises and challenges that the population has suffered over the years, stressing that the will of the Socotra people is the basis for any solution to the crisis.
The governor called on all parties to assume their responsibilities and work to calm the situation and maintain security and stability in the archipelago, stressing the importance of dialogue and understanding to reach consensual solutions.
Al-Thaqli also appealed to the Arab coalition countries to respect the will and choices of the people of the South, expressing his hope that these countries would contribute to supporting efforts to find a peaceful solution to the crisis.
Al-Thaqali stressed the importance of preserving the social fabric and the unity of ranks and speech of the people of the Socotra Archipelago Governorate, stressing at the same time the right to peaceful expression, provided that this is done within the framework of law and order.
